Following on from my previous article which was ‘How To Make Money Online – Blogging – Adding The Correct Content’ you will now like to find without effort as many new website visitors as you can simply by raising the credibility of your site in the search engines.
I previously touched briefly on the power of using YouTube and adding a video there. As with all other things you do to put content on web 2.0 social sites these equal another back link to your site. The search engines do work with a sort of voting basis and more precisely on a ‘who is’ voting basis. By you adding your content onto a high ranked site, such as Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Digg, Mixx etc (there are hundreds of social media sites). Then when you link back to your site from a link on these ’social proof’ sites it is seen by the search engines as a high value link.
Because these sites are all free then there is no real limit to the power with which you can create thanks to social media. But for the purposes of this article I am going to focus on one specific way to increase your traffic using video marketing. Instead of just submitting your video to YouTube. You could go and sign up for a free site called Tube Mogul. If you upload your video there then this site will automatically add your video to around twenty other free video sites.
You will of course need to set up your own pages on each of these social sites which is fine as this also means that your blog now has its own ‘mini-net’ of say twenty high ranked social sites. Now when you upload your video to Tube Mogul, then you go out to your Digg and Mixx pages and you can comment on one or two of the video uploads (don’t comment on them all). Now you are effectively then broadcasting your message on approximately twenty different TV channels all for free.
You’ll also end up with other benefits here too. Firstly you’ll have a large amount of links coming back now from high ranked social sites. You’ll also have around twenty other platforms to attract more traffic to your prime site by spreading your message. This traffic may well take a while to show up but the social media proof should happen quickly and should also raise your sites position within the search engines. To achieve the goal to make money online using this strategy means you need to get your site highly ranked as soon as possible. Then when you achieve this then you can monetise them easily.
What you can also do is roll this idea out to other social sites. A good way to start is to link your blog to Pingfm.com. This site links to around forty social sites. Again you will have to take the time out to go and create pages on all of these sites but once you have then every blog post you make is instantly uploaded to around forty more social sites which if you include a link in the text of your blog post back to your site then they will link back to you.
Again you can go to Pingomatic.com and ping each of these posts. You can also ping any comments that you or any of your visitors make. Each blog post you make you should also ‘ping’ as well as this brings your posts to the attention of the search engine spiders.
The more activity, then the more often the spiders will return and the higher ranked your site will become. Then the end result for you will be more traffic at no cost except your time. In the next article I will show how to make money by further monetising your visitors.
